Some Benefits of Group Therapy
Gain support from others
Feel a greater sense of connection and decreases feeling “different” or isolated in your struggles
Increase insight and awareness of your difficulties, which will help you to stop the cycle
Benefit from the interactions with others to re-form relationships and un-do bad habits
For more information on the reasons group therapy is beneficial according to renowned group psychotherapy expert Dr. Irvin Yalom, visit his web site here.
Connections Group Therapy
I am excited to announce Connections group therapy, for those interested in receiving support in the areas in which you specifically struggle!
The Connections group is a process group which provides a safe venue to give and receive positive support to others who may be facing similar things. While this group is non-topical in nature, the topic becomes what you or others bring to the group. By focusing on interpersonal interactions based on relational theory, this group enables the healing of oneself and others through those integral relationships.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Group
DBT group is helpful to those who seek to learn effective coping strategies in the areas of emotion regulation and stress management. Please note that the DBT group is purely a skills group for the purpose of learning and discussing the skills in group, with the goal of practicing in the context of everyday life to improve overall sense of peace and well-being; it is not a formal structured DBT program-based group. DBT skills groups is the perfect supplement to support individual therapy, or to set you on the right track toward achieving your goals. The group is 1 hour and meets weekly. $25.00/1-hour group
Once you have learned the skills in all 4 modules (Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness), you will have:
Learned over 40 skills to help you manage stress and crisis, calm yourself, reduce depression, and increase overall sense of self and satisfaction in life.
Learned skills to increase distress tolerance, which will help you respond to life stressors more effectively.
Learned skills to help you regulate mood, so that you are better able to function.
Learned skill to increase focus, sense of self, and guard yourself in the here-and-now to reduce anxiety and suffering.
Learned skills to improve the way you relate to others and communicate effectively, which will help you to form healthy, satisfying relationships with others.
Research shows that DBT skill training reduced suicidal ideations and depression in those who learned, practiced and used the skills, within a 6 month DBT program.
* In order to get the most from the program it is important to remember that these skills should be practiced, which will ideally make them habit-forming. DBT skills are to be learned and practiced throughout life, not just during the training program. These skills are to be a way of life, in order to have a life worth living!
